postpartum perceptions
After having two babies only 20 months apart, these are the pieces I made where I lost and found myself in my own process of layering and deconstructing various textures and colors within drawing and painting. A sense of playfulness and a lack of control is the root within these abstract works that evolved and transformed through many phases over time, allowing myself to shed skin and make sense of the postpartum anxiety and personal transformation I experienced as a new mother.
